Frequently asked questions about web monetization
Everything you need to know to monetize your website or app with ADEQ Media: requirements, ad formats, payments, implementation and support. Cannot find your answer? Write to us and a specialist will reply within 24 hours.
What is Adeq Media and what does it offer?
ADEQ Media is a monetization agency for websites and mobile apps. Put plainly: you produce the content and we take care of getting the ad space around that content sold as well as possible.
That covers four things that would normally require an ad ops team of your own. Connecting demand: several buyers competing for your impressions instead of just one. Choosing and placing the formats that fit your site without ruining the reading experience. Negotiating direct campaigns with advertisers, paid at a closed price rather than whatever the auction returns. And watching performance day by day to correct what is not working.
What we do not do is ask you to learn how to manage all of that. Integration is one script and the rest is handled by an account manager assigned to your account.
What do I need to work with you?
We mainly work with sites and apps above 350,000 monthly page views. It is a reference point, not a wall: below a certain volume it is not worth an advertiser's while to set up a campaign, and without campaigns the inventory does not perform.
We also ask for two things that are non-negotiable, because the buyers themselves verify them:
- Real traffic and original content. Bought or artificially generated traffic gets detected, and when it does the advertiser claws the money back. It hurts everyone, starting with you.
- Privacy compliance. The European GDPR and the industry consent frameworks, such as the GPP. Without a valid consent signal a large share of programmatic demand simply does not bid.
If you are not sure you meet one of these, send us your site or app anyway. The evaluation costs nothing and we will tell you what is missing before you invest time in it.
How is Adeq Media different from platforms like AdSense, Ezoic or 152Media?
The underlying difference is in how your inventory gets priced.
Fixed CPM on direct campaigns. In verticals such as Forex and betting we run campaigns negotiated at a closed price by agreement. They do not depend on what was bid that day, so you can forecast that part of your revenue instead of discovering it at the end of the month.
Simultaneous competition, not a waterfall. Several premium demand partners bid at the same time through header bidding. In the classic waterfall model each network was asked in turn and the first one answering with a good enough price won, which was almost never the best available.
An account manager, not a dashboard. Setup and ongoing optimization are done by us. You do not configure units or adjust price floors.
Live in 48 h, with a single Header Script.
Which ad formats do you use?
We work with the full range, and the choice is not a matter of taste: each format fits a type of content and a type of visit.
- Display and sticky. The classic banner and its anchored version, which stays visible as you scroll. The sticky is usually the best performing fixed position on mobile, because it accumulates time on screen.
- In-stream and out-stream video. The first sits inside a player with content of its own; the second works without one, inside the article. We cover it in depth in video formats.
- Native. They take on the typography and layout of the site, so they blend into the reading instead of interrupting it.
- Interstitials and rewarded. Full screen between transitions, and ads the user chooses to watch in exchange for something. Common in apps and games.
- Formats exclusive to Forex and betting campaigns.
- In-app advertising and CTV.
You can see all our formats in detail.
How and when are payments made?
We pay monthly by bank transfer, automatically on the 1st of each month.
The important part of that sentence is what comes next: there is no minimum payout. Whatever was generated is paid, whatever the figure. There is no threshold below which your money sits waiting for the following month.
It is worth pausing here, because this is where a publisher's maths most often goes wrong. An accumulated minimum balance is not lost money, but it is money that is not in your account when you need it, and if your billing is irregular it can sit there for months. Getting the full amount every month makes your ad revenue as predictable as any other invoice.
If you want to understand what produces that figure before it arrives, start with CPM, RPM and fill rate.
What kind of support do you offer?
A dedicated account manager, the same person from start to finish, and 24/7 support. Not a ticket form answered by someone different each time, and with no time window: if your traffic is worldwide, your problem does not wait for an office to open.
The account manager's work covers four stages:
- Onboarding. Placing the Header Script, getting the ads.txt right and checking everything loads before it starts counting.
- Optimization. Reviewing which positions perform, which get in the way and which formats are worth testing or removing. It is continuous work, not an initial setup.
- Reporting. What was generated and where it came from, so you can check it against your own figures.
- Tag technical support. When something does not load, when a format overlaps your layout, or when you change template and things need readjusting.
That last part is the most underrated. A site redesign can dismantle an ad integration without anyone noticing until revenue drops, and there the difference between being told the same day or the following Monday shows up on the invoice.
Can you monetize mobile apps?
Yes. We monetize Android and iOS apps with native, video, interstitial and rewarded formats.
An app is not a website on a different screen, and it is worth being clear about that before starting. There are no articles to scroll through; there are sessions with a beginning and an end, and the formats that work are the ones that lean on that structure: an interstitial fits a natural transition between screens, and a rewarded works because the user decides to watch it in exchange for something inside the app itself.
The practical consequence is that an app's performance depends far more on when the ad is shown than on how many are shown. An interstitial in the middle of an action is annoying and gets the app uninstalled; the same interstitial one second later, once that action is finished, goes unnoticed.
We do not ask for a different minimum because it is an app: the same reference threshold as for a website. The evaluation is the same and we prepare a proposal suited to how yours is used.
Does my site need a specific type of content?
We work with editorial and entertainment content: news, culture, sports, finance, lotteries and celebrity, among others. What we ask for is quality content with no legal restrictions.
The type of content matters more than it seems, and not because of any judgement on our part. Programmatic buyers apply exclusion lists by topic and by brand safety: there are advertisers that will not bid next to certain content, however excellent the traffic. A site with a large audience in a restricted topic can perform worse than a smaller one in a topic advertisers actively seek out.
That is why the evaluation looks at the content and not only at the volume. If your topic sits in doubtful territory, we tell you before anything is integrated: better that than finding out when the fill rate refuses to rise.
Can I request a demo before integrating?
Yes. We show you live examples of the formats working and prepare a revenue estimate for your site or app. Fill in Evaluate your site and we will contact you within 24 hours.
It is worth knowing what an estimate is and is not. It is built from what we know about your volume, your topic, your audience's country and the formats that would fit. It is a reasonable starting point for deciding whether a trial is worthwhile, not a guaranteed figure.
What moves the real result most is the geography of your audience and the time of year: the same site performs differently in a quarter with high budgets than it does in January. That is why we suggest reading the estimate as a range and checking it with a real trial, which is what the question on lock-in is about.
Can I keep AdSense or other agencies alongside Adeq Media?
Yes. Our technology can coexist with other platforms, as long as no ad conflicts arise and no party's policies are violated.
An ad conflict is something very specific, not a theoretical objection. It happens when two scripts try to fill the same slot and one overrides the other, when the ad density limits imposed by one of the platforms are exceeded, or when two floating formats overlap on screen and the user cannot close either. The result is usually the worst of both worlds: the experience gets worse and neither source performs well.
That is why, when there is coexistence, the first thing we do during onboarding is map which slots each party manages. With clear rules from the start it works without trouble; improvised along the way, it almost never does.
How are campaigns implemented?
Three steps, whatever the formats:
- You add a Header Script to your site. A single tag in the head. It is the one that fires the bid request and places what gets sold, so it goes at the top: if it loads late, the auction arrives late and some buyers no longer respond.
- You upload our ads.txt. It is a text file at the root of your domain declaring who is authorized to sell your inventory. Buyers read it before bidding, and if they do not find the matching authorization they discard the impression. We explain it in full in the ads.txt and sellers.json guide.
- Our team configures and optimizes during the first 15 days.
Those 15 days are not paperwork. It is the time needed to see, with your own data, which positions perform, which get in the way and which formats are worth removing. At the start there are always adjustments.
Is there a minimum commitment for a test?
There is no lock-in. We recommend a 30-day trial, which is the reasonable minimum for reading a result.
The reason is that below that you would be measuring noise. Ad performance varies between weekdays and weekends, shifts with advertisers' budget cycles and moves with seasonality. A good week or a bad week says nothing on its own.
There is also a methodological reason: the first 15 days are for setup and adjustment, so half of a 30-day trial is precisely the period when things are still being tuned. Cutting it short means drawing a conclusion about the assembly, not about the operation.
After those 30 days you have a baseline to compare against what you had before, which is the only comparison that matters.
How long has Adeq been in the market?
Since 2018. Today we work with more than 400 direct websites with worldwide traffic.
That the sites are direct is the relevant fact, more than the number. It means the relationship is with the publisher, with no layers of intermediaries between your inventory and us. In programmatic, each added intermediary takes its cut and adds one more hop where traceability can be lost, which is exactly what buyers penalize when they audit a supply chain.
Worldwide traffic also implies demand in different markets, which matters if your audience is not concentrated in a single country.
